Must be reliable, take charge technician with 5 yrs exp maintaining/repairing UHF High Power transmitters, microwave links, tower/transmission facilities and related equipment. Capable of managing a project/crew at tower site, good communication skills, working knowledge of computers/networking, the ability to document equipment installation. Available 24/7 when necessary. ATSC Encoder and PSIP set-up/troubleshooting exp req’d. Knowledge of and compliance with FCC Rules and Regulations. STL/ENG Microwave troubleshooting, MPEG, SDI, Dolby, AES, DVB AS3 and ATSC standards knowledge a must. Some elevator based tower work. Harris transmitters/Flexicoder ATSC encoding a plus. WFMY News 2, the Gannett owned CBS affiliate in Greensboro, North Carolina has an opportunity for an ambitious, talented, meteorologist. This position requires strong forecasting skills for a variety of weather conditions. We are looking for someone who is very aggressive and proactive in severe weather situations. We take pride in having the most accurate weather team in the market. Our meteorologists produce and present forecasts for on-air, online, mobile, media partners and a 24 hour local weather channel. This position includes reporting and community outreach visits. Excellent computer skills are a plus. Minimum requirements include a degree in Meteorology or related field and 2 years of professional forecasting experience. No phone calls, please. Our multimedia news producers develop a vision for their newscast and work with a team of journalists to carry it out. Our Get Answers brand advocates for viewers, connects with the community and allows our customers to be part of the newsgathering process. We have the showcasing tools and resources to build exciting presentations. This position requires strong writing and decision making skills. Teamwork and the ability to work under intense deadline pressure are critical. Our multimedia news producers generate content for our on-air, online and mobile products. Candidates should have a degree in Journalism or a related field plus two years of professional experience. Newscast assignment will depend on the experience level and performance of the candidates.
